About Me
I am a postdoctoral researcher with a PhD in Physics from Georg-August-Universität Göttingen, completed under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Viola Priesemann at the Max Planck Institute for Dynamics and Self-Organization (MPIDS). My research focuses on mathematical modeling of infectious diseases, including work on COVID-19 and sexually transmitted infections. I am interested in understanding how human behavior and public health interventions influence the spread of infectious diseases, and how mathematical models can inform public health policy and decision-making.
My foundational work integrates mechanistic modeling, exemplified by my PNAS study on HIV PrEP dynamics, with hierarchical Bayesian frameworks (using PyMC) to quantify behavioral feedback loops in society. My current research interest lies in integrating Large Language Models (LLMs) into epidemiological simulations, aiming to move beyond traditional behavioral assumptions by using Generative AI to model complex, realistic human decision-making and social interactions within disease dynamics.
My work blends physics, data science, and public health, applying computational and analytical tools to reveal the intricate interplay between disease dynamics and societal responses.
